We found satellite television, a heating system and a DVD player in the cottage. Their valet is the best! The place is a couple of blocks away Sausalito downtown. Really enjoyed on-site restaurant Poggio Trattoria.
We appreciated our stay. Friendly staff and spectacular location, this hotel is great.
That water was missing. Shame the bathroom was tiny.
Nice staff, well located.
Did not care for our particular room. It was a "courtyard room" for which we paid a bit extra. The courtyard was only ok- more of a makeshift roof deck. Our room was back in a dark corner, not really "on" the courtyard. It was loft style, which I did not like - too far down to the sitting area to be of any use, and that area was small and somewhat inhospitable. Bathroom was nice, but, overall the room was okay, at best.
The room was awesome - very spacious, clean and comforting. The staff was incredibly helpful and courteous. I am booking another stay here in September.
There is nothing I can complain about on this stay.
Wi-fi didn't work. Staff unhelpful regarding that issue. No channel guide, no hbo
The hotel is pet friendly and our two dogs are very well behaved; so Casa Madrona was perfect for us.
My only suggestioned would be to have a few trash cans around the property. We had a lite lunch one afternoon and we didn't want to leave the food boxes in the room so we went hunting for a trash can and could not find one. Maybe one by the court yard and one in the back above the mansion.
good location for san francisco visit, very nice staff, very nice big rooms, we will come back again, when we go to san francisco
Very quiet and relaxation is the theme. Beautiful view from our balcony.
The location of the hotel is excellent.
Our room was right at the top, but the lifft does not go all the way up.
The uniqueness of the rooms and of the property itself.
We loved the exercise to get to the room (but many wouldn't), and the views from the room and communal lounge area (not mentioned during the 'hard-sell'!)
We did not like the (double) hard-sell to upgrade the room to one without the exercise or the historic (Victorian) part of the hotel, for only close to doubling the room rate (+$130)
Just being in the middle of a beautiful place
They upgraded me to a very nice room and I didn't even ask for it
close to shopping
the old mansion part was not at all worth what your asking.
We had a lovely stay, and the staff was very helpful.
I'm not a big fan of the window looking into the bathroom area.
